School of Conservation

The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation is the name of Denmark's new creative institution of higher education. The merger between the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture and the Danish Design School has been planned over a number of years, and as of early 2011, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Conservation has joined the merger project.

On Thursday 26 May 2011, the Danish parliament, Folketinget, approved the Act on Merger of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, the Danish Design School and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Conservation, which is effective as of 2 June 2011.

The new merged institution will continue to offer degree programmes in architecture, conservation and design. The objective of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation as an institution of higher education is to provide education in architecture, design, arts and crafts, conservation and restoration on an artistic and scientific basis and to the highest level, and to conduct artistic development work and on a scientific basis to carry out research in the fields of architecture, design, arts and crafts, conservation and restoration.
